FELCO – THE WISEST CHOICE

Choosing the right Secateurs is vital because nothing affects growth and yield as much as pruning.

Cutting cleanly without crushing the stem or bark or a plant or tree is essential to keep out disease. Just as important, a Secateur must keep cutting cleanly. To do this the blades must not spread apart, leaving snags and it must be easy to service.

FELCO secateurs meet these high standards and are light and comfortable to use. No wonder they are in such demand the world over and recommended by institutes, professional growers and amateur gardeners.

FELCO cutting blades are hollow ground to help cutting and are not riveted, which means like all other parts, they are easily replaced. Many of the original FELCO’s made over 30 years ago are still giving faithful service and still cutting.

The slightest fault in the material or construction of a pruning shear can cause damage to plants or result in costly loss of time. Your FELCO Secateur will last for years. So in order to get the maximum benefit out of your purchase you should choose the model that suits you best – not necessarily the cheapest. Quality and performance finally determine whether your choice has been a wise one.

First take the FELCO 7 in your hand (FELCO 10 for lefthanders). This is our top model in both quality and performance. When squeezing its handles several times you will get a feeling of comfort while the unique rotating handle moves with your fingers as you cut. It may feel strange at first, but it allows the fingers to move naturally, reducing blisters and hard skin, and requiring less effort. It is a welcome relief for both the professional and the amateur. The extra cost of this benefit is insignificant over the years if the pruner feels good in your hand.

If you are undecided about the No 7 we recommend the No 8 (No 9 for lefthanders). It is identical to the No 7 except for the rotating handle. Light alloy handles shaped to make an extension of the forearm, together with perfect cutting performance, are decisive features.

People with small hands may prefer the lighter FELCO 6. It is comfortable, powerful, and ideal for fine pruning such as shrubs and young trees for florists.

Our original model is FELCO No 2. Its quality and design is world-renowned over the last 30 years, and owing to this it is still the most popular FELCO.

If you only really want a basic pruner without refinements but nevertheless FELCO quality and performance, then choose FELCO No 4. Lastly, made down to a price, but with excellent cutting performance there is the No 5.

Pruning shears

FELCO's "state of the art" models produce clean and precise
cuts, guaranteeing rapid healing of the wood. The shape and covering of the handles mean users can keep working for a long time without unnecessarily tiring their hands, wrists and joints. On certain models the revolving handle makes pruning even more comfortable by reducing the effort of cutting and accordingly removing the risks of tendonitis.
