Nutri-Life Root-Guard™

Nernatophagous fungi at work

A blend of nematophagous fungi designed to improve the ratio of desirable to undesirable organisms in the root zone.

Root-Guard™ is a talc-based formulation containing the following naturally occurring predatory fungal species Arthrobotrys oligospora, A. conoidus, Paecilomyces funosoroseus, P. Glacinus and Verticillium chlamydosporium. Root-Guard™ also contains the metabolites of Myrothecium verrucaria.

Benefits:

  • A highly efficient bio-balancer capable of improving soil food web ratios
  • Odourless and completely non-toxic to humans, animals and plants
  • Applicable at all stages of crop production
  • Biodegradable and target specific
  • User-friendly
  • Ideal for organic and conventional growers
  • No withholding period
  • BFA applied organic certification pending.

Packaging:

  • 300gr, 1kg, 5kg, 20kg

Typical Analysis:

  • 1 x 10'° per gram of the species of the species Arthrobotrys oligospora, A. conoidus, Paecilomyces funosoroseus, P. lilacinus, and Verticillium chlamydosporium

Application Rates:

Soil:

  • Apply at 5kg per hectare. In problem soils monthly application may be necessary. Mix 5 kg of Root-Guard with 5 litres of water to form a slurry and add to 200 litres of water and boomspray over 1 hectare. Alternatively, add slurry to fertigation tank or apply through centre-pivot. Apply immediately after preparation. Apply in the evening to maximise soil absorption.

Information:

  • If this product is not used immediately after opening, it will have a remaining three-month shelf life if refrigerated. Unopened bottles have a minimum 12 to 24-month shelf-life from date of manufacture.
  • Contains live organisms - do dot apply in conjunction with toxic chemicals, particularly fungicides. Allow at least three to four days before applying.
  • Spray or fertigation tanks must be chemical free. To clean equipment, make a 1% solution of urea (1kg per 100 litres of water). Fill tank and spray hoses and let sit overnight. Then empty and rinse.
  • All living microbes should be added to a liquid mix last, ie. after all other products are diluted.
  • It is very important to realise that high pressure rates with spray equipment can damage or destroy beneficial microorganisms. Try not to exceed pressures of 60 psi.
  • Toxic residues remaining in the soil from the use of fumigants like methyl bromide, Vapam, etc, may negatively affect the fungal species in Root-Guard™.
