Huma-Tech Powdered Humic Acid ™

Humates are derived from prehistoric plants which predate the dinosaur era. They retain all of the minerals and vitality of those nutrient-dense plants.

A processed concentrate containing 70% humic acid in slow-release form.

This slow-release humic acid has been extracted from compressed, ancient plant matter in the form of leonardite (a soft brown coal). 16% of the Humic Acid is comprised of fulvic and ulmic acids, making this an exceptional quality base product. It is an ideal additive to boost bio-activity and improve the performance of compost or composted fertilisers. The composting process speeds the release of the humic and fulvic acids.

Benefits:

  • Offers all of the numerous benefits of humic acid (already mentioned earlier) in a slow-release form.
  • Slow-release humic acid can help to stabilise inputs throughout the crop cycle.
  • This product still retains the high levels of broad-spectrum minerals that were part of the ancient plants from which it was derived.
  • BFA certified organic.
  • Can be applied directly to the soil at any time to help buffer excesses or toxins or to stimulate soil life (fungi).

Information:

  • Huma-Tech Powdered Humic Acid is only slightly soluble in water, but it is 85% soluble in alkaline conditions, ie when combined with potassium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) or ammonium hydroxide.
  • This product should not be confused with soluble, rapid-acting Potassium Humates.

Yield-Building Tips with Humates

  • Supply a carbon source with all nitrogen sources to avoid humus depletion. Humates are the best option here, as they have the highest organic carbon levels of any material.
  • Combine fulvic acid (Fulvic 1400) with all foliar inputs, as it will magnify their effect.
  • Include Soluble Humate Granules with all granulated phosphate fertilisers. The humic acid will complex the phosphate to form a stable phosphate humate. This may be the first time you'll experience full-season phosphate availability.
  • Urea and humic acid are perfect partners. Trial a urea-treated are with and without the humic acid additive - you may soon become a convert!
  • Most conventional farm soils are seriously lacking fungi, which play an important role in fertility and disease prevention. Regular applications of humic acid (Huma-Tech Liquid Humus) will feed your existing fungi and help to overcome the fungi/bacteria imbalance.
