ACATAK® POUR-ON LONG TERM CONTROL. NO RESISTANCE. Choose the Pour-on Tickicide that goes the distance. EFFECTIVE TICK CONTROL REQUIRES A LONG-TERM SOLUTION NOT A QUICK FIX. Instead of making a "blue" by using a pour-on tickicide that doesn't go the distance, choose ACATAK POUR-ON. |
|
The other pour-on tickicide provides only 5 weeks protection and it can now only be used twice a season. On the other hand, ACATAK POUR-ON can, in most cases, be used to protect your herd all season long. One treatment using ACATAK POUR-ON can provide non-lactating beef cattle with up to 12 weeks control of ticks, including strains resistant to other tickicides. It's also reassuring to know that ACATAK POUR-ON can be used up to three times during the tick season if required. ACATAK POUR-ON gives you sure, long-term protection against all strains of cattle tick . and in many cases you'll find that it's more cost effective than old "blue". READY AND EASY-TO-USE ACATAK POUR-ON is presented as a ready-to-use rainfast pour-on and it is available in 2.5 litre and 5 litre Back-Packs. It is applied at a dose rate of 3ml per 50kg of bodyweight via two spray-bands, one along either side of the spine from the shoulder to the rump. Being a pour-on means quick and clean application so there is no chemical waste and the potential for environmental contamination is negligible when compared to running a dip. You can also forget about mustering and messing about with dips and sprays every three weeks. There's also no need for the complex charging and re-enforcing calculations that are required to run a dip successfully - just follow the simple pour-on dose table on the pack. ACATAK BREAKS THE TICK'S LIFE CYCLE AND HELPS PREVENT REINFESTATION ACATAK POUR-ON is unique because it blocks the development of cattle ticks at critical stages of their life cycle. This dramatically reduces the tick population on paddocks and thereby reduces the potential for reinfestation. ACATAK's long-lasting and systemic action prevents tick populations from building up on your pastures and thereby removes the source of future tick populations. SUITABLE FOR ALL TYPES OF BEEF CATTLE ACATAK POUR-ON can be used on fattening and breeding stock, and it has no adverse effect on the reproductive performance of bulls or cows. COST COMPARISON TABLE In many cases, ACATAK POUR-ON is more cost effective per week of protection than BAYTICOL® POUR-ON as illustrated in the table below:
^ - Length or protection provided by ACATAK POUR-ON is variable according to rate of growth and effects of lactation; Maximum length of protection claimed by BAYTICOL POUR-ON is 5 weeks; Protection period provided by Bayticol Pour-On may be shorter if resistant ticks are present. PROTECTION IS TRANSFERRED FROM COW TO CALF DURING LACTATION ACATAK is transferred from beef cows to calves via milk during lactation. This means that calves will obtain protection from their mother but it is important to realise that the cow's protection period will be reduced as a result. Rapidly growing cattle may also experience reduced periods of protection as compared to mature cattle. DEADLY TO TICKS, SAFE TO NON-TARGET INSECTS ACATAK POUR-ON is extremely target specific so it will not adversely affect beneficial non-target species such as dung beetles. WITHHOLDING PERIODS MEAT - Do not use less than 6 weeks before slaughter for human consumption. Calves that have suckled treated cows must not be slaughtered less than 4 months after the last treatment of these cows. MILK - DO NOT USE on cattle which are producing or may in the future produce milk for human consumption. EXPORT SLAUGHTER INTERVAL ACATAK POUR-ON has an industry accepted Export Slaughter Interval of 42 days. |
